This class will start participants off with a warm up and then move on to strength training the whole body. The core, glutes and legs, back and chest will be the main focus to get you feeling strong and increasing your hiking stamina! Bring a stroller, water, towel and blanket for baby - and bring your stamina!
Meet at Paramount Park just south of I-70 on 26th and Kipling. Exit I-70 at Kipling and go south for about a mile. The park is on the right at 26th Street by the Sinclair and across from Crown Hill Park.

Jefferson County - Mount Falcon, Castle Trail/Meadow Trail
This is a high-elevation, 2 mile hike and the views are spectacular! The terrain is pretty flat and should not be too strenuous. We'll add a bit onto the normal route with a scenic loop and great views of Denver!
Take C-470 to Hampden/Hwy 285 South. Take the Indian Hills turn off, and follow Parmalee Gulch Road for 2.6 miles. Turn onto Picitus Road and follow signs for several winding miles to the west access for Mount Falcon – this is the second parking area you will come to. From C-470 and Hampden to the trail head is about 20 minutes.

Jefferson County - Maxwell Falls, Maxwell Falls Trail
This 4.5 mile hike begins with a moderate ascent through the forest – great Aspen tree viewing! The rest of the hike to the falls is pretty flat and down hill until the trail heads back up one last good leg burner. From there it's all down hill and mostly shady back to the parking.
Take I-70 west to the Evergreen Parkway exit (Hwy 74). Take Hwy 74 to downtown Evergreen and turn right at the light onto South Hwy 73. Take Hwy 73 about 1 mile to Brook Forest Road and turn right. Go 3.6 miles and the parking lot will be on the left. Make sure you watch the odometer because it’s easy to miss! Please allow for about 45 minutes to an hour for the drive from central Denver.

This out and back trail travels through the forest for lots of shade on the hot summer days. There is some incline but nothing too hard and the way back is all downhill!
From Hwy 6 turn West on 19th Street (in Golden)Follow it up as it turns into Lookout Mountain Road/Lariet loop to the Windy Saddle parking lot on the right.

Jefferson - Lookout Mountain Nature Center, Meadow Loop Trail
This is a 1.5 mile hike that includes forests as well as a beautiful meadow. The start of this hike is at a high elevation, but there is not much elevation gain on the trail. And the quiet beauty is unsurpassed! Since this is a higher elevation hike, the temperatures will definitely be cooler than they are in Denver, but bring plenty of water!
Take I-70 to the Lookout Mountain exit and follow the signs to the Lookout Mountain Nature center. Plan about 10 minutes of winding road from the I-70 exit to the top of Lookout Mountain. We will meet on the benches outside.

This pretty and shady hike begins with a flat jaunt through the forest. We'll search with our ears for the water... and once we find a great spot the kids can hang out for a bit! This trail is pretty flat with some rocky incline and is great for moderate level hikers.
Take I-70 west to the Evergreen Parkway exit (Hwy 74). Take Hwy 74 to downtown Evergreen and turn right at the light onto South Hwy 73. Take Hwy 73 about 1 mile to Brook Forest Road and turn right. Go about 4.5 miles and the parking lot for Maxwell Falls, Upper Lot will be on the left.

Jefferson County - Mount Galbraith Park, Cedar Gulch Trail with Full Loop
This is a steep hike at first, but then levels off into the woods. The views are great and the terrain is open and rocky. This park is for hikers only so no wrestling with mountain bikers! We will take the full loop at this park making for a nice long but only moderately steep hike.
Take Highway 93 out of Golden for one mile to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Go west on Golden Gate Canyon road for 1.5 miles and park is on the left.

Jefferson County - Crown Hill Park, Wildlife Sanctuary Trail Play Date
This precious sanctuary in the middle of Wheat Ridge is the perfect place to explore without leaving the city, and is a great place to spread a blanket and hang out for a while. The wildlife sanctuary is protected by Jefferson County and is home to some magnificent birds. Please bring a stroller as there is a short stroller walk to the entrance where the kids will start exploring.
From I-70, take the Kipling exit south to 32nd Ave. Turn east (left) onto 32nd and park along the street about a half mile down the road. We will walk together for a short distance to the wildlife sanctuary.

The views are lovely on this 2 mile loop, and you will find a variety of terrain as the trail goes through woods and then back out into the sunshine. The sound of a rushing creek along the trail makes this hike just heavenly! There is a gradual incline ending with a descent back to the start point.
Take C-470 to the Morrison Road exit. Go through Morrison and then continue straight onto Hwy 74. Go 4.7 miles, and the park is on the left.

This challenging 3.2 mile hike has beautiful views of the “Three Sisters” rock formation, and the trail is dappled with sunlight as you hike through the forest.
Take I-70 west to the Evergreen Parkway exit (Hwy 74). Take Hwy 74 to downtown Evergreen, and turn right at the light heading south onto Hwy 73. Go .6 miles and turn right onto Buffalo Park Road. Follow Buffalo Park Road for about 2 miles to the SECOND parking area near a big open field.

Jefferson County - Genesee Park, Braille Nature Trail
This gorgeous tree-covered hike winds gently down into the forest where a bevel of squirrels will keep us company! The one mile loop continues through moist forest land and back up to where we started. Originally a trail for the blind, this easy hike is flanked by a guide line.
Take I-70 west out of Denver to the Chief Hosa Exit 253. Turn right at off the exit then immediately right again onto Stapleton Drive. Go 1.1 miles to the trail head and park in the lower or upper lot.

This trail at 3 miles has pretty views, and abundant wild life. The first half of the hike is very steep and pretty exposed to sun, however it is restricted to hikers only. Once at the top the second half of the loop is all down hill. Come on out and test your endurance – you’ll be glad you did!
Take C-470 to the Morrison Road exit and go west. Just after the town of Morrison turn left at the last light and go south on Hwy 8. Go about 1.5 miles and turn right onto Forest Avenue. Take another right onto Vine and follow signs into Mount Falcon Park.

We’ll take the kids to an old Fire tower with spectacular views. The kids can do some exploring and we’ll head back. This trail will be about a mile and is flat with some moderate incline at the end and well groomed. Since this is a higher elevation hike, be sure to dress for changing weather!

This gorgeous area is shadded, full of wild life, and a great place for experienced hikers to explore. There are many trail options and interesting rock formations. Bring plenty of snacks and water!
Take I-70 west to the Evergreen Parkway exit (Hwy 74). Take Hwy 74 to downtown Evergreen, and turn right at the light heading south onto Hwy 73. Go .6 miles and turn right onto Buffalo Park Road. Follow Buffalo Park Road for just over a mile to the FIRST Alderfer/Three Sisters parking area.

Although it’s close to the metro area, this area is quiet and wildlife abounds. This hike is about 2 miles and is mostly flat - great for first-time hikers and anyone interested in a gentle hike.
Take C470 to the Ken Caryl Ave. exit and go west. Merge left at the light onto Valley Road and follow signs for about 2 miles to South Valley Park on the left.

Bring your toddler out for an adventure as we search for frogs, dragonflies, and other pond life. This is a short hike with spots for hanging out to check out the wildlife!
Exit C470 onto S. Wadsworth Blvd. which becomes S. Platte Canyon Rd. Drive South past the US Army Corps of Engineers Visitor Center, the entrance to Chatfield State Park, and Chatfield Reservoir. Bear left following signs for Waterton Canyon and Denver Water's Kassler Center. Turn left into the Audubon Center parking lot before the Kassler Center which is on the right.

This gorgeous trail has aspen groves, open grass land, and wooded forest. The Sunny Aspen Trail is about 2.6 miles and is mostly shaded. This is one of our harder moderate hikes, so get ready for a great work out!
Take the Hampden/Hwy 285 exit off C-470 and go South on Hwy 285. Drive 12 miles and just before the town of Aspen Park exit to the right onto South Turkey Creek Road. (This is the SECOND sign for South Turkey Creek Road – don’t take the first turnoff – and don’t take North Turkey Creek Road!) Enter the Meyer Ranch parking lot immediately off the highway.

Hike in the Heat is our anual family picnic day! Bring the whole family and feel free to try any number of great hikes in the area. There is a short one-mile loop for Toddlers, and for families with babies, try the longer trail straight out (moderate) or over the ridge (challenging)! These hikes are not guided, but you will find others to hike with since this event is open to all our members and familes. Bring lunch and enjoy the day!

This is a .6 mile hike that meanders through the woods allowing for kids to search for birds, bugs and butterflies! The trail has some incline and obstacles making it great for more sure-footed toddler hikers. Following the hike, the nature center is open for some fun exploring of animal habitats and food sources.

Jefferson County - Flying J Ranch Park, Flying J Ranch Park Trail
This 3.1 mile hike is shaded and mostly flat. This area is extremely peaceful and quiet - until we arrive with the babies! This hike is at a higher elevation so the temps will be a bit cooler.
Take C-470 to Hampden/Hwy 285 South. Go South/West on 285 for about 15 miles almost to Conifer. Before Conifer you will see the exit for Staples and a Bradley/Sinclair gas station. Exit the highway on the right and again veer right at the first light. You are now on CR 273 and you will go through two more stoplights for a total of 1.5 miles from where you exited the highway. At the sign for Flying J Ranch Park, turn left and continue about a half mile to the parking area and restrooms.

This terrific hike is perfect for moms getting acquainted with the techniques of hiking with baby or anyone interested in testing out a harder Casual hike. It’s less than 1.5 miles with fairly gradual inclines – steeper at the end. New members are encouraged to come, and if this is your first hike with Mountain Mamas, you'll get a great orientation to our group and some good information on hiking safely with your baby!
Take C-470 to the Morrison Road exit. Go through Morrison and turn right at the sign for Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Meet at the trading post at the top of the hill.

This class will start participants off with a warm up and then move on to strength training the whole body. The core, glutes and legs, back and chest will be the main focus to get you feeling strong and increasing your hiking stamina! Bring a stroller, water, towel and blanket for baby - and bring your stamina!
Meet at Paramount Park just south of I-70 on 26th and Kipling. Exit I-70 at Kipling and go south for about a mile. The park is on the right at 26th Street by the Sinclair and across from Crown Hill Park.

Jefferson County - Welchester Park Trail, Welchester Park Trail
This flat half-mile trail is perfect for young toddlers just starting to hike. Kids will love jumping on two bridges, and if we’re really lucky we might spot raccoons, foxes, and a ton of birds! This trail is flat and just under a half mile.
From 6th Avenue West, exit off Simms and go north. Take Simms to 8th and go west (left). Park near 8th and Alkire and you will see sign for Welchester Park on the right.

Jefferson County - Littleton Historical Museum, Nature Trail
The Littleton Historical Museum is a 14-acre site encompassing an 1860s farm and 1890s farm with costumed interpreters, Littleton's original log schoolhouse, a 1903 working blacksmith shop, and an ice house. We’ll see lots of farm animals and even peacocks! This is a fantastic learning opportunity for both parent and children. **The museum fee is $1.00 per person ages 2 and up.**
From C-470 exit at the Santa Fe exit and go north on Santa Fe to Littleton Blvd. Turn right (east) and go to Gallup Street. Turn right on Gallup and the address is 6028 S. Gallup.

Fitness instructor Kathy Zawadzki will teach a high energy stroller fitness class outside in Clement Park! Moms will do chardio and strength training while the kiddos are in the stroller. This class is sponsored by Stroller Strides, and your attendance is FREE with your all-inclusive Mountain Mamas membership! Or if you are a punch-card member, this class will take one punch.
off of Bowles Ave, you will turn south on to LONG DR. This is the entrance to the library; follow the drive around the back of the library and park in the very first parking lot. Class meets on the grassy knoll adjacent to the parking lot.
